Taking the environment seriously
Nature is one of our suppliers - and we respect it. Waste water from our industrial units is treated in highly efficient water-treatment plants, while solid by-products (depectinized apple pomace, citrus peels, seaweed filter cakes, etc.) are recycled into useful domestic animal feeds or fertilizing products. We regularly devote a very significant part of our capital expenditure to the protection of the environment.
Potential environmental risk is taken into consideration at the very beginning of any new industrial development. Working in a preventative manner is always the most efficient and cost-effective way to preserve our natural environment, which is our key provider of raw materials.
Regarding the physical environment, we follow a total transparency policy with local authorities, environmental associations and communities. Teamwork has always been the best way to obtain a cleaner environment.
